![]() ![]() The above three are commonly mentioned, so I am assuming they are all pretty decent. ![]() Van Aaken I have heard a few good things about, and have ridden in a truck with (no driving - just riding) and it seemed to have less oomph than the Edge - IMHO.īlue chip is another one like PMax that I have no experience with, and without experience, I am just another interweb armchair e-bada$$ that is talking out his a$$. PMax TST I have no experience with personally, and I tend to try and hold my opinions back without personal experience. ![]() Sorry, not trying to avoid this thread, I haven't been on the computer since last Thursday evening. I may stack one with the edge.after a clutch/turbo upgrade. I like my edge, but it doesn't compare to my old smarty. Hey Grant, just a question for you.need your opinion on why something like a Powermax TST isn't on your list, Van Aaken, or blue chip? Just wondering if you had a bad experience. SW9 was always fun.until the trans takes a dump.LOL!! I had a smarty cr on my 3rd gen, and let me tell you with aftermarket injectors, turbo and custom downloaded smarty tune.that truck would flat out move. Hopefully I will get back out to Moab and have a reason to run a steep pass So far, only towing has been from Pueblo to BV and back. I would get the gauges.at a min.a PYRO.Perfect, thanks for the reply. His testing is on a dyno and in controlled environment.not at 12K ft over Vail/monarch/Wolf creek passes with a heavy trailer behind it. I could get slippage from my 48RE under mild acceleration in SW3, but at that time I had aftermarket nozzles (50HP), aftermarket turbo/exhaust manifold/exhaust, intake, head work.so you should be fine on SW3.Īs much as Marco is a genius, you willing to bet your turbo/motor on what he says about gauges? Does he back that up with a "you fry it, we buy it" policy? I doubt it. The Smarty was the cats ass in my opinion.but you have to watch your gauges. When I put the smarty on.I would have to back out of the little throttle that I had into it. The pass would usually take 1/8 tank at a minimum. I am no expert, but towing my old TJ over 70 with my 04.5 (exhaust intake were mods, gauges), the truck could and would get hot. ![]()
